Wikiz - Wikipedia Quiz app for iPhone and iPad
Wikiz is an Educational Quiz App based on Wikipedia™.
Wikipedia™ has millions of Articles, organized in categories. Wikiz uses these categories to generate quizzes. Wikiz therefore offers an almost unlimited number of quizzes in numerous languages. You can play existing quizzes, but you can also create new ones on literally ANY topic (cat breeds, football players, Japanese cuisine, German Bundeskanzler, Mercedes vehicles, Airbus aircraft…), and share them with the community. As Wikipedia™ content is not perfect nor always well organized, the game has some limitations and the quality of the quizzes may vary. You can however contribute by rating the quizzes or removing irrelevant questions.
With Wikiz you can:

I recommand this App to people wanting to discover new articles on Wikipedia. I dont really care about my quiz results. But I read the Wikipedia article almost everytime, to learn more about the topic. I play quizzes when I have time, for example on the way to and from work.
I downloaded first played this app and wondered where all the quizzes were coming from: some of them are very specifics and complex, other are easy but very complete (cities, FIFA player). In fact, all quizzes are based on Wikipedia. I could search and create a few quizzes on my interests (italian food, some cars) that no other apps were proposing on the market - and that in German! It is a very educational game, more than a classic trivia - my kids are playing it for dynausoria and cat breeds, and spend some time to read the wikipedia articles. Overall, very good idea and game!
I just Write a Feedback because I discovered this App last weekend and find it fantastic! We were last week-end in Florence, Italy, and we played Wikiz to discover in advance the palaces and the masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery! Fantastic! My first travel since school-time, where I learned something else than a new pizza name! This App will be a travel companion for ms next trips.
Ive been using this app as a teaching tool for my students. Nothing motivates them like playing a game.
Some bad moments
So kinda addicted to wiki now, but I keep getting low scores....
This is an awesome idea for a quiz game! The only issue I had was that I wished there was more content!
Fun to play and it improves your knowledge and stuff. Design and structure need a bit of tweaking though; to many stuff on the screens before starting the quiz

I love educational quizzes and facts and this is a great source of knowledge. My only gripe is that I wish there was a random all categories quiz option that gives you different questions from different quizzes. Also, answering quizzes correctly should give you points that unlock features or more quizzes. Maybe fact based quizzes would be good too instead of picture based.
5 stars for cleverness. Really nice concept of wiki & crowdsourced/collaborative quizzes. Quiz quality hopefully will improve over time, and the main screen interface is a bit too busy, but the app is well-constructed otherwise.
